Free Wi-Fi vs. Paid Wi-Fi
A question many business owners who see the benefits in providing a Wi-Fi hotspot have is which direction provides a bigger benefit, free or a paid service?
I’ve researched this online in order to see where the best benefit is most evident, and the overall winner is with free. In reading through articles, the key difference which is most evident is that paid Wi-Fi venues do not speak of the revenue advantage to their business, where as businesses with free Wi-Fi hotpots are very open to sharing numbers.
An example which comes up quite often is with a chain of deli’s in the U.S. who have recorded an increase of $100,000.00 annually in each of their locations, simply by providing a free Wi-Fi venue which first displays their splash page! They also mention that they’ve taken steps to allow their wireless signals to stretch as far a distance as possible so that their splash page advertising reaches a large number of people in the area.
When setting up a hotspot, the first thing you should look at as your key benefit is the splash page. Any customer who logs in should first see your main page showing your specials, menus, events etc… When you pay for a service, why should the company you’re paying be able to advertise on the main page in your venue? it doesn’t make sense. At PurePages, you control your main page not us. Another great advantage PurePages provides is that we filter out all adult, offensive and hate material and monitor for spam to provide customers with added safety and security.
Simple benefit which help with brand recognition, add an advertising tool to your business and provide added security .
